So I made four attempts to write a blog post to explain how our most recent trip to Zambia went, but words just seem to cheapen what we experienced. Maybe I just need more time to process all the thoughts and feelings that are still so raw and fresh.

So consider the words of James 1:27 and just look at the photos (from Children’s Nest Orphanage in Choma Zambia). Look at the faces of our team members and the faces of the children. What’s happening in these photo’s is so beautiful to me. It’s beyond just being together. It’s beyond playing games. It’s beyond “missions”. There is a certain ‘otherness’ that is difficult to explain. So just look at the faces and let James’ words echo in your heart and mind.

“Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.”James 1:27

  1. Loved your photos. Your team worked so hard at Children’s Nest. I know it looks like play, but make no mistake about it: everyone was mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausted by the end of each day. You truly lived out James 1:27, and it’s not as easy as it looks. Thank you so much for coming back, again and again, to invest in the children of Zambia.
